2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Review:

The Chevy Corvette may have passed the 50-year mark a few seasons ago, but there's no better proof of the power of middle age than the 2009 Corvette ZR1, the most powerful 'Vette ever produced and one capable of more than 200 mph.
The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is equipped with a hand-built, supercharged 6.2 liter V8 that puts out well over five times that - 638 horses that will shoot you from 0 to 60 in under 3.5 seconds, and take you to a top speed of 205 MPH.

Now for the bad news: the sticker-price for this fire-breathing road dragon is a whopping $104,700. Including gas-guzzler tax (enough said, here).

That's just for starters; throw in power leather seats, side airbags, a nav system, Bluetooth function, a power telescoping steering wheel and Bose audio system, and you're looking at around $115,000.

Consider that one can purchase a fully-restored vintage 1958-60 Corvette for half that amount - which properly cared for, will increase in value over the years. Although there is no way to know how well the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will hold its value, chances are that you won't get back what you paid for it when its time to sell.

The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is definitely not for everyone, particularly these days. Recognizing this fact, GM plans to make no more than 2000 units - which will most likely be snapped up by celebrities, pro athletes and corporate CEOs.
